Process support in the program “Together for quality: children's participation in all-day schools”

Strengthening participation structures in all-day schools

The ESF-funded program 'Together for Quality: Children's Participation in All-Day Schools' was committed to establishing participatory structures in all-day elementary school - as a joint offer from schools and youth welfare services. The needs of the children formed the central starting point in this process. The aim was to integrate opportunities for participation into the entire school day and to promote democratic cooperation in care and education.

As a trainer and process facilitator, Teresa played a central role in the implementation of the program. On the one hand, she trained educational professionals in planning and action skills. She also supported the local teams in developing concepts to promote democratic action and establish participation structures at their all-day school.

Professor Michael Komorek, Vice President of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Berlin and head of the programme, emphasizes the following in the collaboration: “Teresa was valued by educational professionals as a competent didactician with methodological expertise in the context of organizational development skills. She documented her analytical skills in particular through a consistent theory-practice approach, which is decisive for the development of action competence in the education sector, but also in the social sector as a whole. This was particularly evident in the workshops, the transfer event and also in the individual consultations at the school locations.”
