Education Conference Youth - "We make the future"
"Students discuss a sustainable future and develop concrete ideas for solutions to shape their future sustainably - in the council chamber of Kiel City Hall. With Teresa and Anton, we were able to bring our idea of an 'education conference youth' to life. From the excellent preparation with many participants to the confident moderation of the conference with around 120 participants and the professional preparation of the work results, minc turned our event into a unique and lively event. Teresa handled the many to-dos surrounding the event in a super reliable and always excellent manner. We really enjoyed the goal-oriented, focused and friendly cooperation with Teresa and Anton. We are already looking forward to the next joint project."
Franziska Berger, City of Kiel, Head of the Education Management Department
On December 8, 2023, minc facilitated the 'education conference youth' for the second time. Together with a preparatory team of young people and the city administration, we designed the interactive conference format.
Around 100 students from class 9 to 11 took part in the second 'education conference youth' with their teachers. The students from five schools in Kiel shared their perspectives on sustainable development for the future with the Mayor of Kiel, Renate Treutel, and other guests from politics, administration and interest groups for children and young people.
In the World Café and a subsequent fish bowl discussion, the pupils discussed improving bicycle parking spaces at schools, clean toilets, the expansion of cycle routes, free local transport for pupils, UNESCO lessons at schools, digital equipment at schools and veggie canteens for everyone. The students called for more housing for the homeless and more offers for socially disadvantaged people as well as an expansion and acceleration of projects and activities for climate protection and climate neutrality.
The question "How can we young people contribute to achieving the 17 SDGs?" was raised at the end. The students were encouraged to get involved further, to start concrete projects and to help shape the necessary changes in our city for everyone through (school) commitment.
