What is facilitation?
Facilitation is a school of thought, an attitude and a craft. "To facilitate" literally means to facilitate, to promote and to make possible. This is exactly what we do as facilitators by designing work with groups to include all perspectives and create a safe environment in which respectful and focused collaboration can occur. To do this, we use a variety of methodological tools that encourage dialogue and include all participants.
Our work is based on certain principles that make up our facilitative approach. For example, we assume that every point of view is important and bring the whole system into the room for this purpose. Participation starts at the earliest possible stage. Community building comes before decision making.
